A chunk of hail larger than a grapefruit fell Tuesday in Central Texas as severe storms blew through the region, according to social media posts.

The hail was seen in Salado, which is in Bell County, where over 20 people were injured as tornadoes ripped through the area, causing widespread damage, authorities said. Bell County is about 150 miles south of Dallas.

Gina Brown tweeted photos of the 5.5-inch hailstone that fell in her front yard.

The National Weather Service of Fort Worth asked her to show a photo with a ruler to measure the hailstone.

Last April, a Texas hailstone that broke the state record was roughly the size of a honeydew melon at 6.4 inches in diameter, according to a report from The Weather Channel.
