Extreme weather in the USA again (video)

A strong snowstorm hit the state of California. The state suffered the most after record rains and heavy snowfall, followed by terrible fires and extreme drought this summer.

Record snowfall hit northern California. As a result of heavy snowfall and a drop in air temperature, there were power outages, hundreds of houses and thousands of citizens were left without electricity. In a short time, about 50 centimeters of snow fell.

Storms this week have dumped large amounts snow in the mountains of drought-stricken California's mountains and drenched lower elevations with heavy rain. California highway authorities announced Thursday the seasonal closure of several major passes through the Sierra Nevada and sections of other state routes in the mountains due to accumulation of snow. The routes will remain closed until snow and debris are cleared and repairs are made in the spring.
